PPG Portal Public Area

Welcome to the Public Policy and Governance Portal (PPG Portal). The PPG Portal is an online resource for graduate students, scholars and practitioners in the field of public policy. This site on the PPG Portal server includes all of the Portal's publicly available material that is accessible without a username and password.

Graduate students and faculty in Canadian public policy programs can also access the secure, password-protected components of the Portal through this website. The secure area contains additional concept definitions, additional commentary and analysis on important policy concepts and a database of books and journal articles that are frequently assigned as course readings in related  graduate programs. This database, named the PPG ReferenceBank, is designed to be useful for public policy and public administration graduate students undertaking research projects.

Resources currently housed in the public area include:

About PPG Portal: general information about the PPG Portal and instructions on how to apply for access to the password-protected component of the Portal

PPG Glossary: definitions for approximately 1,000 concepts from the PPG portal

Other Glossaries: on-line glossaries and encyclopedias related to public policy and governance

Masters Programs: links to Canadian masters programs in public policy, public administration and international affairs, and to accreditation bodies in Canada, United States and Europe

Institutes & Journals: links to Canadian policy think tanks and journals

Blogs & Media: links and RSS feeds from Canadian blogs and media, and selected  non-Canadian links

PPG Review: the Public Policy and Governance Review, a student-run journal originally developed on the PPG Portal
